I can't believe that I am writing my last BFP article. Last summer, I wanted to start this column as a way to talk to people about how much I love cooking and food.

The 2009-2010 season has been a year of two major impacts, the league becoming smaller and quicker and the frequency of injuries. The draft class this year has been argued as the best draft class for point guards possibly ever.

OMG you guys, can you believe we’re graduating???!?!?! CAUSE I CAN’T! Just think, this is like, my last BFP article EVER! And by the time this is published we might have already had our last Midnight Breakfast EVER!!! And next weekend the Canfield...

Typically, when thinking about this college beyond my own time here, I quickly become frustrated with what could, but likely can’t, be a part of Bennington’s future so long as the current situation continues. I have a tough time discerning whether or not the frustration is either reasonable in the facts of our current situation or unreasonable due to my dealings with, in my own experience, an unbalanced and profoundly out-of-touch administration. I’m not going to delve into my personal academic dog-and-pony show experience, as I can deliver the tale much better in person when I’m able to fully illustrate the various inadequacies ranging from numerous unresponded e-mails to the utter fabrications surrounding a particular faculty hire, and at this point, their failure on me as a student is moot.

Bennington College is a school whose students are encouraged to claim a wide variety of unique freedoms and opportunities. It is also a school with, possibly, the most frightened, repressed, and voiceless faculty in the nation. It is no secret that at Bennington teachers, instructors, and professors don’t talk about Administrative decisions or initiatives—they whisper. Even at this crucial moment in the college’s history when President Coleman claims her “New Initiative” will revive a “dead” Liberal Arts, few, if any, faculty seem willing to publicly discuss or question what this might mean for the college’s Disciplines or the student body. The following interview is a rare attempt to voice dissent and provoke timely questions concerning the operations of our College’s Administration.
